: Lázár Benkő (born April 9, 1937) is a Hungarian civil engineer, politician and former Minister of Agriculture. He began his career as an engineer and technical director at the Hungarian State Forestry and Game Management, then moved on to become the CEO of a privatized state agricultural company, SWK Agricultura Kft. In 1998, he became the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. In 2007, he retired from this position and still works as a civil engineer in Budapest. He is also the President of the Hungarian Board of Agriculture.
