Question: How does mathematics affect you? reflect on your learning of maths (early years to secondary school, in your workplace if appropriate, and perhaps now in university), your personal view of it, the impact it has had (or has) on your attitude toward it (positive – negative, or both), whether its reputation - if it has one, is warranted...etc...
Mathematics has been a part of my life since I was a young child. In school, it was always one of my favorite subjects - I particularly enjoyed problem-solving and logical reasoning. I found a sense of satisfaction in understanding complex equations, or discovering an elegant proof for a theorem. I remember using math in the real world, whether it was balancing a checkbook or figuring out the cost of an item I wanted to purchase. As I got older, I became increasingly interested in mathematics, eventually choosing to pursue a degree in mathematics. My studies of mathematics have helped me develop strong problem-solving skills, as well as an appreciation for the value of logical reasoning. I have come to understand the importance of mathematics in everyday life, as it can be used to analyze data, solve problems, and make predictions. Furthermore, mathematics has given me a deeper understanding of the world around me, as I have spent countless hours studying the patterns, sequences, and relationships that make the universe so fascinating. Overall, I have a positive outlook on mathematics. To me, it is an invaluable tool that can help us understand the complexities of the world around us. Although it can sometimes be difficult, challenging, and frustrating, I find that the insight, knowledge, and satisfaction that come from studying mathematics make it a worthwhile endeavor.
