Once, in the midst of an icy winter, at Westwood High, two boys, remarkably different in every way, found their common thread in hockey. The first was Kurt, a tall, naturally gifted athlete with long, golden tresses and skin that always seemed perfectly tanned, even in winter, a feature that led many to dub him 'California' among his peers. The second boy was Stanley, the quintessential underdog. Stanley was a redhead, complete with the freckles and pale skin that often accompanies this hair color. Contrary to Kurt's "cool" demeanor, Stanley was awkward and slight, and he was struggling to even make the junior varsity team. Realizing the swap was permanent, Stanley and Kurt had to adjust to their new realities. Stanley quickly became the new star of the hockey team, confidently leading them to victory time after time after time. Meanwhile, Kurt found himself grappling with JV and experienced an unexpected, humbling journey. Over time, he discovered a newfound respect for his teammates and the struggle they each faced to improve their skills, eventually becoming a supportive and beloved player on the JV team.
