Once upon a time, in a small suburban home, nine-year-old brown-haired, brown-eyed Mike was pacing excitedly in his bedroom, wearing a comfortable t-shirt and jeans, his feet twinkling with light-up shoes. Today had been a great day at school – his crush, Katie, had invited him over for a sleepover. Even better, he found out that she had a crush on him too. On the other side of the house, his older sister, seventeen-year-old Paige, black-haired and brown-eyed, was getting ready as well. Her shoulder-length curly hair bounced as she moved around her room. Dressed in a crop top and short shorts, she sported blue painted nails that added a dash of color to her style. Sunglasses rested on her head, glittering earrings adorned her ears, and a friendship bracelet, a gift from her best friend adorned her wrist. A promise ring, a token of love from her boyfriend, shimmered under the room light. Lastly, her leather wedges, completing the look, rested by the door, and her purse – a perfect match to her outfit – hung by her side. Suddenly, Mike heard his sister call from the living room, "Mike, can you come here?" He rushed over. Paige glanced at her little brother, "I was wondering if you could do my chores so I can go over to my boyfriend's house. If you do, I'll drive you over to Katie's." "Sure thing Paige. What should I get started with?" Mike gladly agreed. His excitement about the sleepover overshadowing his dismay about chores. All of a sudden, Paige removed her bracelet, her promise ring, her sunglasses, her earrings, and her purse, then untied her leather wedges. She raced over to Mike and gripped him hard, causing him to exclaim, "Ow Paige! What are you doing?" But to his shock, he found himself finishing the sentence in his sister's voice. Not noticing Mike's horrified expression, Paige, in Mike's body, smirked, "I switched our bodies so you can't avoid doing my chores like you were trying to. Now you have to do them, Paige!" she said mockingly. Mike, now in Paige's body, felt an odd sensation washing over him. He frowned at his sister, "I said I would do them. Please, swap us back. I don't wanna be you." "Sorry, I don't wanna swap back right now. You need to finish getting ready to go over to your boyfriend's house. Put on your sunglasses, your earrings, your bracelet, your promise ring, your purse, and slip on your wedges or I'm never swapping back." Paige in Mike's body insisted. And so, Mike was left to awkwardly put on Paige's accessories and makeup. With shaky hands, he placed the sunglasses on his forehead, inserted the earrings, put on the bracelet, the promise ring, slung the purse over his shoulder, and slipped his feet into the wedges. "Now I wanna see you sit down and cross your legs setting your purse next to you." Paige instructed. Mike complied, gulping down his discomfort. "My name... my name is Paige and I'm 17 years old, and Mike is... my ugly little brother." He muttered against his will, under his sister's continuous influence. "Compliment your outfit now, Paige," She chuckled. "I... I love the promise ring. It's adorable, just like my boyfriend... The wedges are fantastic on my feet and...and I adore my purse..." Mike recited unwillingly, his voice breaking. From her control, Paige pushed him further. "Now tell me to stop looking at you like a pervert and stay out of your room," she demanded. "Mike, stop... stop looking at me like you're my boyfriend... and stay out of... my room..." Mike stuttered, his heart breaking with each word. "What about cuddling and kissing your boyfriend?" She pushed, enjoying the control. "I can't... I can't wait to snuggle up with my boyfriend and kiss him..." Mike uttered miserably. "Now, stand up, put your purse on your shoulder, pull your sunglasses over your eyes. Strut in your wedges towards me and say that you won't be seeing Katie, but you still have to do the chores or I'll tell mom you watched me change and ruin your life," Paige commanded, her voice firm. Desperate and feeling trapped, Mike did as he was told. "I... I won't be seeing Katie tonight... I... still need to do the chores... or else you'll tell mom I watched you change..." Mike's voice trailed off. Mike began to cry at Paige's final confession of not swapping back. His dreams of his adventure with Katie were replaced with the harsh reality of his new life.
