"Ouch!" echoed five voices as Abby accidentally pricked her finger on a golden hydra statue. Immediately her neck grew long and out sprouted four extra heads with the same personality as herself. Abby_2, Abby_3, Abby_4, and Abby_5 were all staring at each other bemusedly across the angular, cobblestone floor of the ancient temple. Dread filled each head, causing the central Abby to lose her balance and inadvertently stumble deeper into the booby-trapped temple. Five sets of eyes blinked open in the darkness. "What now, genius?” Abby_4 sarcastically barked, as they all looked around at the eerie surroundings, dark save for the meek shaft of sunlight funneling through the hole above. As they looked around, Abby_5 let out a squeak, "Trap, left!" Abby instantly dropped flat, evading a glistening blade which sliced through the air at neck-level. "Well done, team," Abby congratulated, "Let's move forward." Deeper into the labyrinth they went, working together to decipher ancient inscriptions and disarm deadly traps, slowly but surely. "Guys! Pressure plates up ahead!" Abby_3 warned. "The tiles with the animal symbols are safe to step on,” Abby said, deciphering an ancient script on the wall. Carefully navigating the pressure plates, they managed to reach the main chamber of the temple which housed a massive stone door with five identical keyholes. "There!" Abby_2 cried, "our escape route! But we need keys. Wait -- our necklaces?” Indeed, hanging from each neck was a small golden hydra pendant, exact replicas of the statue that had turned them multi-headed. "Let's try it!” Abby said, as they simultaneously put their necklaces into the keyholes and turned. The massive stone door creaked open, revealing the previously hidden escape route, lit by the setting sun's crimson rays. As they stepped through the door, each felt a shiver run down their long neck and realized they had turned back into single-headed Abby. She looked around, her neck slightly sore, and smiled. "Working together saved us, even with the panic and confusion at first," Abby thought aloud, "What an adventure." And thus Abby, the teenage girl adventurer got out of the temple, a bit bruised but wiser. The experience of having four heads with the same personality was something she would never forget. She learned that unity was strength and the value of teamwork, a lesson that would stick with her on every future adventure.
