Luke's First Day as a 22 Year Old

Once upon a time, two very different worlds collided. Cheeks flushed with excitement, nine-year-old Luke sat on his father's lap, dressed in a Minecraft shirt, sweatpants, and his favorite pair of tighty whities. His fiery hair and freckles stark against his pale skin, his eyes glued to the ongoing college hockey match. A few rows down from Luke, a 22-year-old man named Logan enthusiastically watched the game. His golden hair cascading down, contrasting against his tan skin. He was clothed in a stylish Moncler jacket, ripped jeans, and comfortable boxers. A sudden and mysterious twist of fate occurred during the final moments of the game when both Luke and Logan reached out to catch an errant puck. As their hands touched, there was a flash of light and suddenly – they had switched bodies. Suddenly, Luke found himself in a colossal body, towering over most people around him, while Logan found himself inexplicably small, sitting on the lap of a baffled man he knew was not his own father. Luke, now in Logan's body, was whisked away for an after-party by Logan's friends, who were oblivious of the sudden switch. Meanwhile, Logan, now in Luke's body, had to stumble his way out of the stadium with his newfound dad, his smaller legs already betraying his fatigue. At the wild college party, Luke in Logan's body felt overwhelmed. The music was blaring, his newfound height was making him dizzy, and the drinks Logan's friends kept pushing him to down tasted absolutely disgusting. But despite his confusion, he liked being the center of attention. Something his shy and quiet back-up never allowed him to be. Meanwhile, Logan in Luke’s body was tucked into a race car bed, surrounded by Minecraft paraphernalia, and under the watchful eye of a loving but slightly baffling man he now knew was Luke's father. He couldn't believe his day ended so early. No party, no post-game fun. Only early bedtime and good night stories. But despite their involuntary switch, Luke and Logan found new respect and understanding for each other's lives. Luke, in Logan's body, might have enjoyed the attention, but as the night wore on, he felt an alarmingly adult dose of responsibility and pressure. On the other hand, Logan, in Luke's body, got a much-needed break from his hectic schedule and rediscovered the simple joys of childhood innocence. Learning to navigate each other's lives in their new bodies, Luke and Logan anxiously awaited the chance to switch back.
