Luigi's journey from norm to Luigi.

You're sitting comfortably in your living room, controller in hand, the familiar tune of the Super Mario Brothers theme song playing through the television's speakers. Then, the world around you starts to blur. With a sudden sense of excitement and a tinge of fear, you feel yourself being sucked into the TV screen, the bright pixels closing in around you. As the dizziness subsides, you feel a change. Feet first, you watch as your toes turn into large, cartoonish feet. Your legs elongate and become slim, your skin changing from its usual color to a rougher texture; denim starting to cover them. Your attention is then drawn to your torso as it broadens out and a green shirt replaces your usual attire. Next, your hands, no longer soft and dainty, become more masculine as they change to match Luigi's, the square fingertips and strong grip becoming your own. You can feel stubby fingers that can only belong to a plumber of the Mushroom Kingdom. You raise your hands in surprise but instead of your usual reflection, you see large, cartoonish gloves. Your age progresses swiftly to match Luigi's, feeling strong and energetic. Trying to look down at your body, your view is blocked by a large, round nose. And as you open your mouth to exclaim surprise, you notice an Italian accent bleeding through. Your hair has grown out into a thicker volume and you can feel a hat settling onto your head with the trademark “L” insignia. A strong urge overcomes you to start jumping, higher than you've ever been able to before. You feel a powerful pull towards adventure and the joy of overcoming challenges. You suddenly realize that you're not a bystander in this world anymore. You're Luigi, the courageous plumber, always ready to go on a dangerous adventure to rescue Princess Peach. Finally, the world around you changes. Your home, your town, your world, is replaced by the Mushroom Kingdom. Green hills, brick blocks, and menacing Goombas become your reality. Your memories begin to fade away, replaced by Luigi's. The epic battles you've had with Bowser, the countless times you've navigated treacherous terrains with your brother Mario, the joy of saving Princess Peach... those belong to you now. You muster up a brief wave to your old self before it's gone completely, replaced wholly by your new identity - Luigi, the lanky, loveable hero of Mushroom Kingdom.
