In this article, G. J. Ikenberry examines the current state of the international order, in light of the coronavirus pandemic. He argues that the pandemic has highlighted the interconnectedness of the global economy and the need to strengthen international cooperation and governance. He argues that liberal internationalism must be the basis for a new international order, which should focus on collective security, global health and economic coordination. He concludes by emphasising the need for multilateralism and the importance of the US remaining engaged in global issues.
