Once the situation was neutralized, they detained Max in Andrew's body and decided to investigate the bizarre case. Andrew pleaded again to check the amulet Max had used for the switch. On Andrew's insistence, the police found the amulet. The relic was ancient magic and with the help of an occult expert, they reversed the body swap. Andrew was back in his own skin, and Max was returned to his cell, this time, with double the sentence. Andrew's return to normality was bittersweet. His reputation was soiled by Max's actions while in his body. The betrayal Rachel felt was immense. Trust was broken, and regaining it would be an uphill task for Andrew. Andrew used this experience to better himself. He started seeing shades of grey between his defined black and white views of crime. He also learned to appreciate Rachel a lot more.
