Cooper had no idea. Just another weird day at the mall.

It was just another typical day for 12-year old Cooper who was hanging out at the mall arcade with his girlfriend, Mika. The pair loved going out, playing video games, and generally just spending their free time together. His life was simple, and he loved every bit of it. In the middle of one of their games, a woman sauntered by, her birthday party balloons bobbing on display. The balloons spelled out her age - 30. She was dressed in short shorts, a tank top, and Birkenstocks. A large ponytail swished with every step, and bright makeup dominated her face. Alongside her were a couple of kids, probably hers, and a cart overflowing with clothes, makeup, nail polish, hair products, and a few bottles of alcohol. Just as she walked past Cooper, she dropped an item from her cart, obliviously continuing on her way. Cooper, being the gentleman he was, picked up the fallen item and jogged after her. But as he handed it back to her, he felt a sharp shock followed by a wave of nausea. Catching his breath, Cooper looked down and noticed his sneakers were replaced by feminine Birkenstocks and his clothing was swapped for women's. Bracing himself, he looked at a nearby mirror. Where his reflection should have been, the woman's face stared back at him. Cooper stumbled back, before doing an awkward speedwalk in his new shoes to his former body, now occupied by the stranger woman. "Uh ma'am, we switched bodies," Cooper said with the woman's voice. His own voice responded, emanating from his body. "Sorry, ma'am. You have too much on your mind." As she snapped her fingers, Cooper felt his consciousness twist and shift. Suddenly, he could only remember being 'Alexandria,' the woman whose 30th birthday it was. The woman in his former body smiled apologetically, "It's okay. Happy 30th birthday and I like your shoes." Confusion fluttered across Alexandria's face as she looked down at herself, then at Cooper. Why did she feel so disoriented, she wondered. "Aw thanks. They're my favorite pair," she said, forcing out the words. With that, she turned, reeling slightly, and made her way back to her kids, her heart racing. She had no inkling as to why everything seemed off to her, the confusing events quickly obfuscated by the spell. But as she rejoined her children, she still managed to force out a smile, deciding that whatever was causing her unease would eventually pass. Little did she know the fascinating and bizarre turn her life had just taken.
