Once upon a time there lived a ten-year-old boy named Connor. His world had been shaken by the loss of his mother in a tragic accident. His 40-year-old dad, Peter, had started dating a 23-year-old Russian woman named Anastasia in an attempt to fill the void left by his departed wife. Anastasia was a tall and beautiful young woman with a piercing gaze. She spoke English fairly well but much preferred to converse in her mother tongue. This language barrier made it difficult for anyone to truly understand her, let alone warm up to her. Connor in particular had a bone to pick with Anastasia. He couldn't shake off the way she dealt with his father – it always felt sharp and cold. He struggled to understand her motive, but something deep inside him whispered that she was bad news. One day, his suspicions were truly confirmed. He overheard Anastasia on the phone discussing plans of transferring all his father's wealth to her bank account before breaking up with him.
