Amy's high heels

Once upon a time, in a lively Duncan household, 2-year-old Charlie moved about as her jovial nature usually allowed. Today, though, her demeanor was very different. She was tranquilly and quietly navigating her way through the house. Her family was so engrossed in their daily chores that they were completely oblivious to her absence. Charlie gently paddled up the stairs, gripping the handrail for support. She arrived at her parent's room, the door slightly ajar, inviting her in. The room was grand, filled with sartorial elegance that was her mother Amy's. One thing that caught Charlie's eyes was a pair of shimmering high heels, resting near the wardrobe, commanding her attention. In her curiosity, Charlie approached the heels. With her tiny hands, she held the shoes, regarding them as responsible for helping her attain balance. Oblivious to their real use, she went ahead and squeezed her tiny feet into them. As she did, her feet began to change. They cracked, grew, and aged until they filled the heels, transforming them into the perfect fit for her. Confused and concerned, Charlie attempted to pull her feet out, but the shoes were obstinate. Then, unpredictably, her entire body began to change. Her short, fair hair lengthened into blonde tendrils, her voice deepened, and she morphed into the spitting image of her mother Amy, right down to the casual black dress she was now wearing. Unable to utter a word, Charlie knew something was wrong when she saw her reflection in the mirror. Her tiny body had transformed into that of her mother's. Momentarily, even her memories began to change. Now only identifying herself as Amy, not remembering anything from her past as Charlie. Looking at her reflection, she confidently remarked, "Ba bam. I look so good in these high heels. I'm so happy I decided to try them on", sounding so much like her mother than herself. With a redefined poise and mindfulness, she grabbed her purse and strutted out the door, leaving the room just as Amy would. Charlie's transformation into Amy resulted in her disappearing from the Duncan household. Her existence was now only as Amy, erasing every bit of Charlie there ever was. The household was oblivious to this alteration, and Charlie's memory gradually faded into oblivion. Their youngest family member vanished, her delightful presence and antics now a forgotten memory.
