Chapter 1: The Painful Memories of Childhood Davion sat alone in his quiet apartment, lost in thought. He was a successful businessman now, but the wounds from his childhood still lingered. It was a tiresome battle to keep the memories at bay, but sometimes they would flood back with a vengeance, overwhelming him with sadness and anger. Davion’s father had left when he was just six years old, leaving his mother to raise him and his older brother Mondrell on her own. His mother, a narcissist with a short fuse, took her frustrations out on her children. Davion bore the brunt of her anger, enduring her hitting him, yelling at him, and saying cruel things to him while his older brother was never as harshly treated. But as he sat there, lost in thought, his phone rang with a number that he didn’t recognize. Picking it up hesitantly, he answered to hear a familiar voice on the other end of the line – his older brother, Mondrell. Davion’s heart sank as memories of the past came flooding back.
