A Day in Two Worlds: A Tale of Transformation

Once upon a time, there was a small boy named Tommy who lived in the state of Montana. Tommy was a slender young lad standing at 4'2", as most seven-year-olds do. His curly blond hair was a mess from the day’s adventures, and as the day was winding down, he was wearing a red t-shirt with a graphic of a spaceship, and comfy blue jeans. As a Montana kid, he also never forgot his cowboy boots. One evening after an adventurous day, Tommy was saying his bedtime prayers and tucking himself into his blue bedding decorated with planets and stars. As he closed his eyes, his last thought was a wish —a peculiar wish— he wanted to understand others better, especially people different than him. The next morning, Tommy jolted awake. His sleep was disrupted by what felt like an out-of-body experience. His voice jerked out unintentionally, saying, “OMG, these high heels are not comfortable at all!” In that surprising moment, Tommy finds himself in the body of well-known internet personality Kiera BH. Kiera hails from sunny Los Angeles, California, and is not just an online celebrity, but a proud transgender woman. Transformed into Kiera, Tommy, now 29, revisited his birthdate as hers, the 12th of March, 1992. Kiera BH, despite being 5’7”, was known for wearing high heels that made her appear even taller. She was wearing a light pink sundress that swirled around her knees, gold hoop earrings, a dainty silver necklace, a stylish straw hat, and, of course, her signature high heels, all designed to complement her feminine aesthetic. He cautiously explored the body, finding himself older now than his older brother, a fact that added to his disorientation. Unable to control his emotions, he started crying, and cried out, “Mommy, I’m scared!” The sound that resonated clearly from his mouth was unexpectedly high-pitched, a voice vastly different from his own. Hearing the feminine voice coming from him was frightening, and although he was terrified, he found himself saying, “Wow! I… I am so excited. I mean, look at me, I'm happy being...myself.” This uncanny experience was indeed overwhelming for young Tommy. What was supposed to be another regular day in Montana turned out to be an extraordinary journey towards understanding and empathizing with others, pushing him, even more, to brace his future adventures with courage and an open mind.
