195. She scowled, "Her son is a cheating little brat. She should've raised him better."

202. Mrs. Lewis snapped back, “You should’ve taken better responsibility. This behavior is your fault.”
203. “Don’t you dare talk about my son like that! Or me!” Sarah’s voice rose.
204. “I have the evidence right here. His completed assignment alongside the answer key. He knew what he was doing,” Mrs. Lewis retorted.
205. Sarah’s tone softened, filled with worry, “Please, he’s only six. He doesn’t understand the gravity.”
206. “Exactly, and that’s why it’s your job to ensure he does. Fix this, or it’ll only get worse,” Mrs. Lewis replied.
207. "I will talk to him, but you have no right to judge me or my son like this," Sarah's voice was firm.
208. Mrs. Lewis sighed, “We’ll see. For now, I’m issuing a note home with him. Further infractions will lead to harsher punishments.”
209. “Alright. We’ll discuss this at home. Thank you,” Sarah ended the call.

His eyes changed shape. 114. Nose became delicate. 115. Ears shifted. 116. Forehead smoothed. 117. Joey could feel his hair lengthening. 118. His brown curls became a dark, smooth black. 119. His hair wrapped into a bun. 120. His face resembled Mrs. Lewis’s. 121. Joey panicked and thought the transformation was over. 122. He hoped to at least take the answer key off his desk. 123. He saw the answer key. 124. Joey walked over to retrieve it. 125. Suddenly, thoughts of disappointment and anger formed in his mind. 126. He realized he was thinking like Mrs. Lewis. 127. Joey stepped back, shouting, "Oh nooooooo! I’m thinking like Mrs. Lewis! I don’t wanna forget my mommy! I don’t wanna be a boring 100 year old teacher!" 128. Joey cried as tears streamed down his cheeks. 129. His memories began to alter and change. 130. He forgot his sixth birthday. 131. He forgot playing with his toys. 132. His memories of school faded. 133. Playing with his mom, gone. 134. Aunt Lisa’s laughter, disappeared. 135. Grandma Ellen’s stories, forgotten. 136. The memory of his father leaving, erased. 137. The smell of his mother’s cooking, vanished. 138. Going on picnics, slipped away. 139. His first day of school, forgotten. 140. All his childhood adventures, gone. 141. He remembered only being Jessica Lewis. 142. With confusion, Mrs. Lewis blinked and rubbed her eyes. 143. She walked over to her desk. 144. She spotted her jewelry, scrunchie, and glasses. 145. Mrs. Lewis picked up the first piece of jewelry, the gold necklace. 146. She carefully unclasped it. 147. She placed it around her neck. 148. She fastened the clasp. 149. Adjusted it to sit perfectly. 150. She then picked up the silver bracelet. 151. She opened the clasp. 152. Slid it onto her wrist. 153. Fastened it tightly. 154. Adjusted it so it sat comfortably. 155. Next, she grabbed the hoop earrings. 156. She inserted them into her ears, one by one. 157. Fastened the backs. 158. Checked their placement. 159. Then she picked up the thin anklet. 160. She lifted her left foot. 161. Wrapped the anklet around her ankle. 162. Fastened the clasp. 163. Smoothened it out. 164. Finally, she picked up her birthstone ring. 165. Slid it onto her left index finger. 166. Adjusted it to sit correctly. 167. Mrs. Lewis picked up her scrunchie. 168. Gathered her hair in her hands. 169. Held it in place. 170. Wrapped the scrunchie around her hair. 171. Pulled the hair through. 172. Twisted the scrunchie again. 173. Pulled her hair through once more. 174. Adjusted the bun neatly. 175. Finally, she picked up her glasses. 176. Examined the frames. 177. Placed them on her nose. 178. Adjusted the fit behind her ears. 179. Made sure the lenses were clean. 180. Looked around the room clearly. 181. Spotting her flip flops, she picked them up. 182. Set them in front of her feet. 183. Slipped her right foot in first. 184. Adjusted it comfortably. 185. Slipped her left foot in. 186. Adjusted it the same way. 187. "What was I doing again? Come on, Jessica, think. Oh wait, I was staying after with Joey due to his behavior in my classroom. Wonder where he went? Did he even finish his assignment before he left?" Mrs. Lewis muttered to herself. 188. She looked across the room at Joey’s desk. 189. She clip-clopped over gracefully. 190. When she reached the desk, she spotted his assignment. 191. She also noticed the answer key. 192. Mrs. Lewis picked up the answer key. 193. She folded Joey’s assignment with it. 194. Angrily, she said, "I see, so Joey intended to cheat his way to a good grade by using my answer key. Don't know how he even got this. And for that, Jessica, you are to blame. But I will be giving his mom a call to inform her." 195. She scowled, "Her son is a cheating little brat. She should've raised him better." 196. "No surprise considering she says the father left, it only makes sense the son would turn out like sh*t too," Mrs. Lewis added harshly. 197. She picked up the phone to call Sarah. 198. “Hello Sarah, this is Mrs. Lewis, Joey’s teacher,” she started. 199. Sarah answered with concern, “Is Joey alright?” 200. “Joey attempted to cheat using my answer key. I’m disappointed in how you’ve raised him. Clearly, without a father figure, he's heading in the wrong direction,” Mrs. Lewis continued. 201. “What? That’s absurd! Joey wouldn’t do that!” Sarah defended. 202. Mrs. Lewis snapped back, “You should’ve taken better responsibility. This behavior is your fault.” 203. He doesn’t understand the gravity.” 206. Further infractions will lead to harsher punishments.” 209. “Alright. We’ll discuss this at home. Thank you,” Sarah ended the call. 210. Mrs. Lewis hung up, feeling a strange sense of power. 211. She turned back to Joey’s papers, still furious. 212. She hadn’t always been so harsh. 213. Something about today just felt off. 214. She moved to sit at her desk. 215. She organized the papers. 216. She fingered her necklace unconsciously. 217. Why was she so angry? Joey was just a child. 218. The answer key; that’s what started it. 219. But Jessica Lewis wouldn’t let it slide. 220. She was responsible, strict. 221. Joey’s sudden disappearance puzzled her. 222. He was right there, doing his work. 223. She shook her head. 224. “Focus, Jessica,” she muttered. 225. She clipped the pen to her pocket. 226. Adjusted her glasses. 227. The room seemed to spin for a moment. 228. Memories trickled in, her harsh grading... 229. Her students’ tears... 230. How did she get here? 231. Was this transformation literal? 232. Had she swapped places with Joey somehow? 233. She rubbed her temples. 234. The room came back into focus. 235. For now, she had to do her duty. 236. The papers weren’t going to grade themselves. 237. Jessica turned off the lights. 238. Locked the classroom door. 239. The echo of flip-flops followed her down the hall. 240. Unbeknownst to her, Joey’s spirit lingered, waiting.
