Ruth finally headed home, yelling for her daughter, "Emily, get your butt here and help with these groceries!" 116. She clarified, "The snacks and drinks are only for after dinner." 117. "You must ask for permission to touch any of them!" she added. 118. "If I catch you sneaking any, you'll be grounded for a month!" she clarified strictly. 119. Ruth then poured herself a glass of one of the liquors she bought. 120. She sat down on the couch, still wearing her tank top, shorts, and flip-flops. 121. She set her purse next to her and kicked her feet up on the table. 122. A little while later, there was a knock on the door. 123. Ruth didn't really want to deal with her daughter at that moment. 124. "Get lost, Emily!" she shouted dismissively. 125. Emily took the opportunity and sneaked a snack and a drink from the stash. 126. By the time Ruth got home, Emily was distracted by the sight of her mother’s feet. 127. Emily recognized those flip flops and red nails instantly. 128. She looked up and saw Ruth standing with her hands on her hips, looking stern. 129. "Emily, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Ruth demanded.
