James’s head, hair, and face started to change. 81. His hair grew long, cascading down his back. 82. It became a deep brown color, curly and luscious. 83. His forehead reshaped, becoming more delicate. 84. His eyes grew larger, lashes lengthening. 85. His eyebrows thinned and arched. 86. His nose shrank, becoming petite and feminine. 87. Cheekbones lifted, adding to the delicate structure of his face. 88. Lips warmed to a full, rosy pout. 89. His chin and jawline softened, rounding out. 90. Every part of his face aged and feminized. 91. By the time the changes ended, he was unrecognizable. 92. James's memories started to shift, morphing into Rita’s. 93. Every last detail of his young life faded away. 94. She only remembered being Rita Thompson, the strict, narcissistic woman. 95. Rita blinked, looking down at herself, continuing her rant from earlier. 96. “Damn kids touchin’ my stuff. They don’t respect nothin’!” 97. She couldn’t remember who she used to be and didn’t care to. 98. Puzzled, she wondered aloud, “What was I doin’ again?” 99. Rita clip-clopped over to a nearby mirror, admiring her reflection. 100. “Rita, you are one hot lady.” 101. “Damn, look at those curves.” 102. “No wonder everyone’s jealous of you, girl.” 103. “You’re killin’ it at 64!” 104. “A queen like you deserves the world.” 105. Satisfied, Rita checked over her outfit, deciding she needed to run some errands. 106. She admired her bright red nails, smiling. 107. Grabbing her purse, she threw it over her shoulder. 108. Keeping on her tank top, shorts, and flip-flops, she clip-clopped out to her car. 109. Rita drove to the store, humming to herself. 110. Once there, she got out and grabbed her purse. 111. Walking into the store, she said, “Damn, I look good. I’m one hot Chicago woman.” 112. She started picking up snacks and drinks for Lily. 113. First, she grabbed some Doritos. 114. Next, she picked out a chocolate Hershey’s bar. 115. A bag of Skittles followed. 116. Then, she chose some gummy bears. 117. She added a bag of Lays chips. 118. She picked up a bottle of Sprite. 119. Another chocolate bar caught her eye, so she grabbed a Reese’s. 120. Lastly, she picked out a Red Bull. 121. She also grabbed a few things for herself. 122. Rita headed to the liquor cabinet, looking for assistance. 123. “Hey, I need some help over here!” she shouted. 124. Once the store attendant arrived, Rita requested two bottles. 125. “I need a bottle of Jack Daniel’s and a bottle of Grey Goose.” 126. The female cashier smiled, “I’ll need to see some ID, ma’am.” 127. Rita frowned, “ID? Are ya kiddin’ me?” 128. The cashier continued to smile, “Just a glimpse for the cameras.” 129. Rita launched into a rant, “Listen here, I’m clearly old enough! I’m 64 years old. I’ve lived in this town all my life.” 130. “I practically raised half the kids ‘round here!” she boomed. 131. “Don’t get fooled by these looks,” she said dramatically. 132. “I’m wearing a tank top and shorts because it’s hot as hell today!” 133. “My hair’s long and curly because that’s how I like it.” 134. “These flip-flops? Comfortable and classy!” 135. “And I shouldn’t need to explain any of that to you.” 136. The cashier apologized, “Don’t worry about it, miss. I’m sorry for offending you.” 137. Rita pinched her lips, lecturing, “You need to learn how to treat a lady with respect.” 138. Frustrated, she asked to speak to the store manager. 139. “I felt offended by how she treated me,” Rita told the manager. 140. “This is not how you treat a lady!” 141. Getting home, Rita yelled, “Lily! Get down here and help with the groceries!” 142. She clarified, “The snacks and drinks I got you are for after dinner.” 143. “You must ask for permission to touch any of them, understood?” she ordered. 144. “If you get caught sneaking them, you’ll be grounded. Or worse, I’ll take away your TV time!” 145. Lily asked, “Mom, can I have the Red Bull now?” 146. Rita’s anger flared, “Are you stupid, Lily? You don’t ask your mother for a snack right after she told you no!” 147. “What kind of idiot do you take me for?” 148. “I just said it’s only for after dinner!” 149. “Do you have no respect for what I just told you?” 150. “Do you think I was joking?” 151. “You tryin’ to test my patience, girl?” 152. “Ask again and I’ll give you something to really cry about!” 153. Rita poured herself a glass of Grey Goose, relaxing on the couch. 154. She sipped it, saying, “Ah, nothing like a good Grey Goose to calm the nerves.” 155. Rita thought back to earlier, annoyed at her daughter’s friend. 156. “That kid got on my nerves tryin’ on all my clothes,” she muttered. 157. She remembered going to her room to calm down and briefly saw the boy follow her. 158. “Why did he follow me in there?” Rita tried to remember but failed. 159. Later that night, Rita was still in her room, admiring herself. 160. She kept her purse on her shoulder and her flip-flops on her feet. 161. Looking in the mirror, she complimented herself, “Rita, you look fantastic.” 162. She added, “64 and still rockin’ it!” 163. She mused, “Handled Lily like a pro today.” 164. “These flip-flops are just perfect.” 165. “And that Grey Goose? Top-notch choice.” 166. Rita admired her reflection, feeling proud. 167. “You’re one hell of a mom,” she declared. 168. She thought about how she handled Lily’s snack request. 169. “Damn right, I’m in charge,” she told herself. 170. Rita still couldn’t shake how angry she felt earlier. 171. “Damn kids never listen,” she muttered. 172. She thought about how she commanded the situation. 173. “It’s hard, bein’ a mom. But I do it well,” she smiled. 174. She admired her tank top in the mirror. 175. “This top really shows off my curves.” 176. Rita felt a sense of satisfaction. 177. “No one messes with Rita Thompson,” she grinned. 178. She thought about the groceries and the liquor. 179. “Got everything I needed today. Good job, me.” 180. Sipping her drink, Rita wrapped up her day in self-appreciation. 181. She made her way to her bed, feeling content. 182. “Tomorrow’s another day,” she thought. 183. Lying down, she relaxed, eyes closing. 184. “I’m the best there is,” she murmured, drifting off to sleep. 185. The next morning, Rita woke up, feeling refreshed. 186. She stretched, still wearing her tank top and shorts. 187. “Let’s see what today brings,” she said. 188. She got up, grabbing her purse out of habit. 189. “Gotta stay prepared,” she chuckled, heading to the kitchen. 190. She found Lily already at the table for breakfast. 191. “Morning, Lily,” Rita greeted, her mood improved. 192. “Morning, mom,” Lily replied cheerfully. 193. Rita prepared herself a cup of coffee. 194. She took her black with a bit of sugar. 195. “Coffee always starts the day right,” she said. 196. She thought about her plans for the day. 197. “Might need to pick up some more groceries,” she mused. 198. “Or maybe I’ll just take it easy,” she considered. 199. Lily interrupted, “Mom, can we go to the park today?” 200. Rita thought about it, “If you’re good, we might.” 201. “But you gotta behave,” she added. 202. Lily nodded eagerly, “I will, I promise!” 203. Rita finished her coffee, feeling energized. 204. “Alright, let’s get started on breakfast,” she decided. 205. She made some pancakes, bacon, and eggs. 206. “A hearty breakfast,” she said, flipping pancakes. 207. “Can’t start the day without it,” she added. 208. Lily enjoyed her breakfast, thanking her mom. 209. “Thanks, mom! This is delicious,” Lily said, smiling. 210. Rita felt a sense of pride. 211. “You’re welcome, honey,” she replied, ruffling Lily’s hair. 212. After breakfast, they cleaned up together. 213. “Teamwork makes the dream work,” Rita joked. 214. Lily giggled, “You’re funny, mom.” 215. Rita felt happy seeing Lily’s joy. 216. “Alright, let’s get dressed for the park,” she said. 217. Rita changed into a more casual outfit. 218. She chose a simple tee and comfortable jeans. 219. Lily wore her favorite sundress. 220. “Ready, mom?” Lily asked, bouncing with excitement. 221. Rita smiled, “Ready when you are.” 222. They headed out, Rita locking the door behind them. 223. “Let’s have a fun day,” Rita said, leading the way. 224. At the park, they played on the swings and slides. 225. Lily’s laughter filled the air, making Rita smile. 226. They spent a couple of hours enjoying the fresh air. 227. On their way back, they stopped for ice cream. 228. “A little treat for my girl,” Rita said, buying cones. 229. Lily beamed, licking her strawberry ice cream. 230. Rita chose her favorite, chocolate. 231. They sat on a bench, enjoying the sweet treat. 232. “Thanks for taking me to the park, mom,” Lily said. 233. “Anytime, sweetheart,” Rita replied warmly. 234. Back home, they settled in for a quiet evening. 235. Rita made a simple dinner of pasta and salad. 236. “Dinner’s ready,” she called out. 237. They ate together, talking about their day. 238. “Today was fun,” Lily smiled. 239. “Yes, it was,” Rita agreed, feeling content. 240. After dinner, they watched a movie together. 241. Lily chose a kids’ adventure film. 242. Rita enjoyed watching her daughter’s happiness. 243. “Love you, mom,” Lily said, leaning on her. 244. “Love you too, baby,” Rita replied, hugging her. 245. As the movie ended, it was time for bed. 246. “Let’s get you tucked in,” Rita said. 247. Rita read Lily a bedtime story. 248. “Goodnight, mom,” Lily whispered, closing her eyes. 249. “Goodnight, Lily,” Rita replied softly. 250. She turned off the light, leaving the room quietly. 251. Back in her own room, Rita reflected on the day. 252. “I did good today,” she thought, feeling proud. 253. She got ready for bed, changing into her pajamas. 254. “Tomorrow, I’ll be even better,” she promised herself. 255. Lying down, she felt a sense of peace. 256. “I’m living the life I deserve,” she smiled in the dark. 257. Sleep came quickly, comfortable and deep. 258. Rita’s transformation was complete and irreversible. 259. She would wake up tomorrow, Rita Thompson, as she would for the rest of her life. 260. And she’d tackle each day with the confidence only she could.
