**9.** Walked faster to test balance. **10.** Moved confidently towards the mirror. **86.** Just as she walked away, she stubbed her toe, yelping, “!AY!” **87.** Carmen never changed back, completely forgetting who she used to be. **88.** She decided to visit her former mom’s house. **89.** Carmen drove over, walked up to the door, and knocked. **90.** Her former mom opened the door. “Have you seen my son, Timmy?” **91.** “No," Carmen replied, walking inside and sitting down, causing the furniture to creak. **92.** Her former mom noticed, “That’s a lovely outfit, and I love your sandals.” **93.** Carmen beamed, “Gracias! I like dem too,” she said in broken English. **94.** Carmen walked over to the fridge, and criticized what she found inside, “Why you have no good Mexican food? No Corona, Modelos, or even tequila?” **95.** Upset, her former mom began to cry as Carmen left the house and headed to the store. **96.** Carmen was on a mission to get the ingredients and the alcohol she believed her former mom should have had. **97.** At the store, she grabbed all the ingredients and then asked for some specific Mexican alcohol brands, pronouncing them flawlessly. **98.** The female cashier asked her in English, “Can I see your ID please?” **99.** Confused, Carmen asked, "Why you need my ID? No look old enough? Is it law? What if I no have? You no belive mee?" **100.** The cashier responded, understanding the rule, “Yes, it's the law to card everyone, and if you don’t have one, I can’t sell you any alcohol because you look younger.” **101.** Carmen, frustrated, blurted out, “This is estupido!” **102.** She angrily loaded everything into her car, muttering in Spanish, “No puedo creer que no tenga buen alcohol Mexicano.” **103.** Carmen drove back to her former mom's house. **104.** She popped open one of the bottles herself. **105.** Carmen set about cooking a large, complex Mexican dish – **Chiles en Nogada**.
